State agencies, universities and statewide entities had $77.1 billion of debt outstanding at the end of fiscal year 2025, according to the Bond Review Board's Data Center.

BRB's 2026 Debt Affordability Study gives $77.90 billion for the same date (page 5). The study and the Data Center are compiled differently and BRB does not say why they differ; this site shows the Data Center figure.
The Data Center search lists 5,678 local government issuers by name; they share 5,197 issuer pages because a city, county or district and its affiliated corporations share one page. This counts issuers with a Data Center page, not issuers with debt.
