Every government with debt in the Data Center: what it owes at the end of fiscal year 2025, its tax rates and taxable value, and the issues it has sold.

3,588 local governments are in BRB's tables. The 3,319 with debt outstanding at the end of fiscal year 2025 owe $365,500,296,028 of principal.

How this table is made
  • One row per local government in BRB's debt outstanding table. Principal outstanding and issues outstanding are at the end of fiscal year 2025; a government with nothing outstanding then shows "Not reported".
  • Tax rates, taxable value, population and average daily attendance (ADA) are the figures reported with the government's debt for fiscal year 2025. A government with no property tax rate (total rate 0) levies no property tax (a tollway, an airport or a regional water district, for instance): all its rates show "Not reported" and are left out of any median or average of rates. A missing total rate also shows "Not reported" for all rates. Zero component rates of a positive total show 0.0000 and count in medians and averages. Principal per resident divides principal outstanding by that population; principal per student (ADA), shown for school districts, divides it by average daily attendance, as BRB's own ratios do. Both are computed here.
  • "Last issue closed" and "issues sold" count the issues in BRB's local issuance fee table, which covers the fiscal years named in the heading.
  • The total row adds up every row the search and filters keep.
